The concept: To conserve and maximize light throughout the day, the house was not extended from the rear, but a new building was added at the far end of the lot. These two buildings are connected by an overhead walkway supported by a massive beam over 30 feet long. The walkway creates a shelter outside in case of rain and allows for continued enjoyment of the outdoors.
